Isner calls Kaepernick's actions 'pathetic' - ESPN Video

American John Isner has no patience for people that don’t respect the National Anthem. On Monday Isner joined the critics of San Francisco 49er quarterback Colin Kaepernick, calling his decision to sit during the Anthem “pathetic.”

Of the incident, Kaepernick said “I’m going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color.”

Isner said he is fine with Kaepernick having a cause, it is his method he disagress with.

“I thought that was pathetic from him,” Isner said. “The cause he was going for, fine by me, but don't do it in that fashion. He could have found some other ways to present his voice there. A lot of NBA players have done it, and good on 'em. For him doing it in that way really irked me. I'm a big Blaine Gabbert fan now.”
