On a day that saw the grass-court season cancelled in 2020, Roger Federer has confirmed his appearance at next year’s Noventi Open in Halle, Germany.

“We experience difficult times, however, we will arise from it strengthened,” Federer said in a statement posted on the tournament’s website. “Already today I am glad and excited about my return to Halle the next year. Stay healthy!"




The Swiss won his tenth title in Halle last season, beating David Goffin in the final. Halle is the only title that the Swiss has won more than nine times.

The tournament announced that all ticket holders in 2020 will have their tickets awarded in 2021.

“The tickets already purchased for this year’s ATP 500 grass court event, the 28th NOVENTI OPEN in Halle in Westphalia remain valid for the postponed event,” the tournament said. “The respective ticket holders will be contacted in order to be informed about the details.”
