This is absolutely outrageous! 😱@DKasatkina pulls out the tweener! #RogersCup pic.twitter.com/Uf7Df6fm98

— WTA (@WTA) August 7, 2017 It hasn’t exactly been a banner year for Russia’s Daria Kasatkina, but the 20-year-old has still managed a few bright spots. She won her first career title in Charleston this spring and she earned her first career win over a reigning World No.1 when she defeated Angelique Kerber at Sydney in January. She produced another bright spot today, pulling off this amazing ‘tweener early in her first-round victory over former U.S. Open runner-up Roberta Vinci. The beautifully executed shot drew rave reviews from Vinci (love how she applauded), and from other WTA stars on Twitter:

And Kasatkina may have a side job as a ‘tweener teacher:

Half price? Sign us up! Kasatkina will face No.5-seeded Elina Svitolina in the second round at Toronto. Svitolina took their only previous meeting last season in straight sets.
