Day 4 of the Aussie Open was full of blistering performances. It also had its share of interesting numbers. Here are a few of them, by the numbers…

Tennis Express

43 - 9 - Roberto Bautista Agut’s record in January since 2016. The Spaniard simply knows how to conduct a proper off-season and come flying out of the gates. He’s into the third round in Melbourne with a 6-1, 6-0, 6-3 victory over Philipp Kohlschreiber and will face Taylor Fritz in round three.

3 - The highest seed to fall in either singles draw across the first two rounds of play at Melbourne. Garbiñe Muguruza dropped a straight-sets decision to France’s Alizé Cornet on Day 4. The Spaniard wasn’t the only Top-10 seed to fall. Sixth-seeded Anett Kontaveit also went down, falling to 19-year-old Clara Tauson.

19 - Number of double-faults hit by Aryna Sabalenka in her second-round victory over China’s Wang Xinyu. The No.2-seeded Belarusian still managed to come up with the victory in three sets and will face Czech Marketa Vondrousova in the third round.

120 - Andy Murray had never lost a Grand Slam match to a player ranked as low as 120, but he fell in straight sets to Japan's Taro Daniel on Thursday. Daniel reached the third round at a Grand Slam for the first time with his win, and will face Jannik Sinner or Steve Johnson in the third round.

34-0 - Daniil Medvedev's record when he has won the opening set at a hard court major. The Russian moved past Nick Kyrgios on Thursday evening in Melbourne.

3 - Cornet has now won her last three matches against Top-10 players at the Grand Slams. The Frenchwoman is 5-15 lifetime against the Top-10 at the majors.
