Karolina Pliskova edged Petra Martic in three sets to reach the final n Rome for the third straight year.

Karolina Pliskova is doing her Rome thing again.

The 29-year-old World No.9 reached the final at Rome for the third consecutive year with a 6-1, 3-6, 6-2 victory over Croatia’s Petra Martic.

Pliskova, the 2019 Rome champion, and last year’s runner-up, improved to 14-5 lifetime at the Foro Italico and 7-2 on clay this season.

Pliskova has now won three of four against the 30-year-old Croatian, after dropping the first three in their head-to-head.

The Czech, who saved three match points in the quarterfinals to defeat Jelena Ostapenka on Friday, will face either Coco Gauff or Iga Swiatek in the final, as she bids for her 17th WTA title.
