Top seeds are powering through at the Antalya Open in Turkey. Four of the top five seeds advanced into the round of 16 on Friday, with No.1-seeded Matteo Berrettini leading the charge. The Italian, who defeated Turkey’s Ergi Kirkin 6-0, 6-4, hammered eight aces and dropped just seven points on serve to set up a round of 16 encounter with Dimitar Kuzmanov of Bulgaria.
No.3-seeded Fabio Fognini moved through with a 6-4, 7-6(4) win over Michael Verbensky of the Czech Republic, while No.4-seeded Alex De Minaur mauled Malek Jaziri 6-2 6-1 and No.5-seeded Jan-Lennard Struff topped Russia’s Pavel Kotov 6-4 6-3.
Seven of the tournament’s eight seeds have advanced to the round of 16, with seventh-seeded Miomir Kecmanovic, who fell to Italy’s Stefano Travaglia, the only seed to fall.
On Thursday, second-seeded David Goffin saved five match points to survive a first-round tussle with his friend and doubles partner for the week, Pierre-Hugues Herbert.
Here is how the round of 16 shapes up in Turkey.
