Day 4 is in the books at Roland Garros and Tennis Now is here to break down some of the relevant numbers.

Tennis Express

10 Number of consecutive breaks of serve during the third set of the match between Sara Errani and Kiki Bertens. Errani served for the victory three times but it was a cramping Bertens that came through with the victory, 7-6(5), 3-6, 9-7.


6-0Alexander Zverev’s record in five-setters at Roland Garros after his 2-6 6-4 7-6(5), 4-6 6-4 win over Pierre-Hugues Herbert. The German moves on to face Marco Cecchinato, who qualified, in round three.

19 Number of double-faults hit by Coco Gauff in her three-set loss to Italy’s Martina Trevisan. Gauff, hit four in a row to surrender a break in the second set and also hit two in a row to hand Trevisan two match points in the final game of the match. The 16-year-old American hit a total of 31 for the tournament.

11 Number of players ranked outside of the top 100 that reached the third round at Roland Garros.

225 The fastest serve of the first four days has been recorded Radu Albot of Moldova.

5 Number of qualifiers that have reached the third round—Marco Cecchinato, Nadia Podoroska, Martina Trevisan, Pedro Martinez and Sebastian Korda.

189 Speed in kilometres/hour of the fastest women’s singles serve of the tournament. Coco Gauff, who defeated Johanna Konta, 6-3 6-3, hit it.

16 The length of Simona Halep’s winning streak after the Romanian sailed past compatriot Irina-Camelia Begu on Day 4, 6-3, 6-4. Halep is now 13-0 against her fellow Romanians and 8-0 against Begu. She will meet Amanda Anisimova in the third round.

24 Number of WTA players that have saved match points en route to victories in 2020. Two more have occurred at Roland Garros – Clara Tauson, who defeated Jennifier Brady on Day 3, and Kiki Bertens, who topped Sara Errani on Day 4.
