Neither the unpredictable elements nor experienced opposition have stopped Donna Vekic's surge in Nottingham.

The second-seeded Vekic streaked through 12 consecutive games defeating Tatjana Maria, 5-7, 6-0, 6-0, to advance to her second final of the season.

The 2017 Nottingham champion will play either top-seeded Caroline Garcia or American Jennifer Brady in tomorrow's final.

“I’m super happy to be back in the final, and finally completed a match on grass as well,” Vekic told WTATennis.com afterwards. “That was really fun, to be out there playing again. I’m really looking forward to tomorrow.”

Brady leads Garcia 6-4, 2-5, in the second semifinal, currently in a rain delay.

Five straight days of showers wreaked havoc on the schedule forcing some players, including Vekic, to play indoors this week.

Dropping the opening set in today's semifinals, Vekic denied four break points in sweeping the second set that featured four deuce games.

The world No. 22 closed with a second straight shutout set. Vekic will play for her second Nottingham title and third career championship tomorrow.
