The Spaniard claims her sixth career title but it was far from easy as she was made to work after falling behind by a set and 2-0 to Babos. Muguruza was pushed the whole way but eventually rallied back in set two and broke in the final game of the set to draw even; she then expanded her lead with a crucial break for 4-2 in the decider.

Muguruza did not face a break point in the final set and won the final two points to seal her victory as a Babos forehand sailed long.

She finished with 22 winners winners against 31 unforced errors and broke serve three times on 11 opportunities.

Muguruza improves to 5-0 lifetime against Babos with her win, which took two hours and 20 minutes to complete.

Muguruza has now won five of her last six finals, and improves to 6-4 lifetime in title matches.
