10 Today's win for Ekaterina Makarova was the Russan''s 10th over a Top 10 player at a major. Only Serena Williams, Venus Williams, and Maria Sharapova have more Top 10 Slam wins among active players, per WTA Insider.

1 Kerber was the first Top seed to ever lose a first-round match on the women’s side at Roland Garros. Stefan Edberg is the only man to have ever lost in the first round while seeded first. He fell in the opening round in Paris in 1990.

50 Svetlana Kuznetsova won her 50th career match at Roland Garros to set up a second-round encounter with Oceane Dodin

20 Venus Williams made her Open Era record 20th appearance on Sunday. It was also her Open Era leading 74th Grand Slam appearance.


4 Grigor Dimitrov snapped a four-match losing streak at Roland Garros with a 6-2, 6-3, 6-4 win over Stephane Robert. The No.12 seed improved to 4-6 lifetime at Roland Garros. He is 60-36 lifetime on clay.

5-1 Lucas Pouille improved to 5-1 lifetime in five-setters with his 7-6(6), 3-6, 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 win over Julien Benneteau. Pouille, who has never been beyond the second round at his home slam, faces Thomaz Bellucci in the second round.
