No. 17-seeded Roger Federer has been drawn into Andy Murray’s quarter of the draw and will face a qualifier in his first match. The Swiss could end up facing No. 10-seeded Tomas Berdych in the third round and No.5-seeded Kei Nishikori in the round of 16.

No.9-seeded Rafael Nadal has been drawn to face Florian Mayer in the first round.

Top-seeded Andy Murray will face Ilya Marchenko in the first round, while No.2-seeded Novak Djokovic will face Fernando Verdasdo. Djokovic will bid for his seventh title down under, while Murray is bidding for his first Australian Open title.
