Raonic battled back from a set down to work his way past Great Britain’s Kyle Edmund, 4-6, 6-3, 6-4. The World No.49 appeared to be closing in on his first Top 10 win but Raonic turned up his serve in the final two sets.

In sets two and three Raonic hit eight aces, dropped only three first-serve points and did not face a break point.

Earlier on Friday Jack Sock advanced with a 6-4, 7-6(4) win over Steve Johnson to set up a semifinal with Donald Young.

Del Potro avenged a loss to Querrey at Delray Beach last year to improve to 3-0 on the season. He withstood 16 aces from Querrey and broke once in each set to get the 7-5, 7-5 win in one hour and 33 minutes.

He will face Raonic for the third time. The pair have split their two previous meetings, both on hard court and both in 2013.
