Tommy Haas snapped a 10-match losing streak to win for the first time this season and became the oldest ATP player to win a match in nearly 22 years when he defeated American Wild Card Riley Opelka, 7-6(5), 4-6, 6-3 on Monday at the U.S. Men’s Clay-Court Championship.

Haas’ last win came at Wimbledon in 2015 when he defeated Dusan Lajovic in the first round.

The German turned 39 on April 3rd. He will face Jack Sock in the round of 16 at Houston. The German won the Houston title in 2004, defeating Andy Roddick in the final.

Haas is now the oldest to win an ATP World Tour singles match since 1995 Halle when 42-year-old Jimmy Connors reached the quarter-finals.
