The Czech, who won two three-setters in qualifying, did not drop a set in the main draw all week. She earned her first four career Top 100 wins en route to the title and notched her first career Top 20 win when she defeated Barbora Strycova in the semifinals on Saturday.

The Czech, who is coached by Jiri Hrebec and Zdenek Kubik, will turn 18 in June.

She saved all nine break points she faced in the opener, and four of five in a second set that saw her rally back from a break down to force a tiebreaker.

Kontaveit, ranked 99, was also bidding for her first career title.

Su-Wei Hsieh and Monica Niculescu took the doubles title, 5-7, 6-3, 10-7, over Timea Bacsinszky and Martina Hingis.
