Germany’s Laura Siegemund has no complaints about her form in Stuttgart. The Wild Card has reached the semifinals for the second consecutive year after knocking off No.2-seeded Karolina Pliskova, 7-6(3), 5-7, 6-3 in Friday at the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix.

“I played probably the best tennis I could have played here,” said Siegemund, who improves her lifetime record at Stuttgart to 7-1.

It was Siegemund’s second Top-5 win in her last three tries, and the sixth career Top-10 win in ten tries. The German will get another opportunity for a Top-5 win on Saturday when she faces Simona Halep in the lower-half semifinal.

The No.4-seeded Romanian rolled past Anastasija Sevastova, 6-3, 6-1 in an hour to book her spot in her first semifinal of the season.

“I feel good,” Halep said. “I feel happy, I’m positive, on court and off court. I think it’s my best feeling this year and I want to keep it."

Siegemund defeated Halep in straight sets last year at Stuttgart. It was a massive event for the German, who entered the draw outside the Top-150 as a qualifier and rolled all the way to the final and notching three Top-10 wins before falling to Angelique Kerber.
