Radwanska snapped a two-match losing streak against the German, dropping only three points on her second serve, and saving one of two break points.
The victory improves Radwanska’s hopes of reaching the WTA Finals. She moved into sixth place and if she wins the title in Beijing she’ll qualify.
Radwanska cruised through the opening set in 26 minutes, then rallied to win six of the final seven games of the second set after falling behind 3-0 to improve her lifetime record against Kerber to 6-5.
Bacsinszky Heating Up Again
Swiss Timea Bacsinszky kept her Singapore hopes alive with a 0-6, 6-3, 7-5 victory over Sara Errani. The win was huge in many ways for the resurgent Swiss. In addition to keeping her in the Singapore hunt it marked her 40th win of the season. And, it also places Bacsinszky one win from the Top-10.
Errani was eliminated from Singapore contention with the loss, meaning that there are now just 11 players in the hunt for the final five spots.
