Roger Federer Arena isn't arriving in Basel yet.

A bid to rename the St. Jakobshalle "Roger Federer Arena" in the 20-time Grand Slam champion's hometown of Basel has failed to garner enough signatures for approval, Swiss news agency ATS reports.

Federer served as a ball boy in Basel in his younger years and has won his hometown title a tournament-record 10 times, celebrating with a pizza party he hosts for ball kids.

Three thousand signatures were needed to prompt a vote on renaming the arena, but those efforts fell 1,800 signatures short.

The Swiss Indoors Basel, scheduled to start on October 24th, has been cancelled due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

The tournament has been rescheduled for October 23-31st, 2021.
