Watch: Battle of the Sexes Trailer


It was the most widely-viewed tennis match of it's time and now the famed Billie Jean King vs. Bobby Riggs clash is coming to the big screen.

The Battle of the Sexes feature film on the famed 1973 match between Hall of Famers King and Riggs will debut on September 22nd.

Emma Stone, fresh off winning the Academy Award for her performance in La La Land, stars as Billie Jean.

Steve Carrell plays Riggs, who became good friends with King after their showdown at the Houston Astrodome.

That match, staged on September 20th, 1973, was one of the most highly-viewed sporting events of its time with more than 30,000 fans in attendance, an estimated 50 million viewers tuned into ABC’s coverage and millions of dollars were bet on the outcome.
