Second Serve

When was the last time you showed up to your office and a thousand fans started screaming and giving you a round of applause? This, my friends, is why it is good to be the Federer. It doesn’t happen to us—it happens to Roger. Federer was practicing early on Friday ahead of his second round matchup, which will be against either Dudi Sela or Stephane Robert.

When it was all said and done and practice was over, Federer was brought down to earth when he was called into ballboy duty for Novak Djokovic, who was practicing on an adjacent court. Fame, like autographs on old t-shirts that have been through the wash too many times, is fleeting.
