Serena Has Hilarious “Chat” with Kader Nouni in Miami
Serena Williams
was in no mood to be soothed by Kader Nouni’s epic voice on Saturday during her straight-sets win over
Zarina Diyas
.

Murray Doesn't Like Women's Balls
But Williams was in a mood to show the venerable umpire who was the real boss. She did that as cameras listened in during a changeover early in the first set. It was kind of a funny exchange and there didn’t seem to be any bad blood between the two.
"In fact, unless you're giving me a warning, don't talk to me," says Williams. Then, after meditating on it for a few seconds, Serena turns to the girl holding the umbrella and says "Do you believe this?"
Williams was referring to Nouni giving her friendly advice about being more "expressive" when she wants to challenge a call. "You're always picking on me," says Williams. "It's always something."
Absolute comic genius? Or is she really mad? We're thinking it's the former.
For the record: Nouni did award Williams a challenge on the play the two are referring to, which happened in the previous game, even though Williams' gesture was a little, shall we say, unorthodox.
This was just a chat between two old pals, on an annoyingly humid day in Miami. Nothing to see here—except everything that makes tennis the oft-comical, always entertaining, popcorn-worthy endeavor that it always is.
Williams moves on to the round of 16 at Miami. She will face
Svetlana Kuznetsova
. She has now won 20 matches in a row at the Miami Open, and is bidding for her ninth title. Clearly she is the true boss of Miami.
