Ernests Gulbis is clearly not one for superstition. The 25-year-old Latvian has always marched to the beat of a different drummer, and he did that again today at Roland Garros when he became the first man in over two years to win his next match at a major after defeating Roger Federer in the previous round.
With his 6-3, 6-2, 6-4 victory over Berdych, Gulbis becomes the first man since Novak Djokovic in 2011 to back up a win over Federer in a Slam with a win in the next match. Here are the list of the last eight men to have failed:
