David Goffin is one of the game’s premier ball strikers,who played around with different balls before deciding to pursue tennis.

Goffin, who is the top seed at this week’s Swiss Open Gstaad, sat down with the tournament for this interview where he reveals the toughest opponent, most unforgettable moment and how he fell in love with tennis.

“Because when I started to play tennis, I always loved tennis and the game, the racquet and the ball,” Goffin said. “I tried some different sports—football, handball—but tennis was my favorite.”

Two years ago, Goffin reached the Gstaad final falling to then world No. 24 Dominic Thiem.

Goffin will play Radu Albot in his Gstaad opener.
