Rafael Nadal has publicly praised his fierce rival Novak Djokovic for making a charitable donation to the #nuestramejorvictoria (our best victory) movement.
“A huge thanks to @djokernole for the contribution to the #nuestramejorvictoria campaign helping those in need in the fight against Corona Virus,” Nadal wrote on Twitter. “Class act - Hvala Nole!”
Nadal started the #nuestramejorvictoria movement with compatriot Pau Gasol. They are enlisting fellow athletes to contribute to the ‘Cruz Roja Responde’ (Red Cross Responds) project, to raise money to help the health system and the families that are most in need at this time. The goal is to raise 11 million euros for more than 1,350,000 people.
Spain has been hit hard by Covid-19. The country has over 117,000 confirmed cases and over 10,000 deaths as of Friday.
