Watch: Ferrer Feels Love From All

As the sun set on David Ferrer's final Barcelona appearance, thunderous showers began.

Ferrer, who will formally retire at next month's Madrid Masters, has shown the same feisty resolve he's displayed throughout his long career.

The former French Open finalist upset third-ranked Alexander Zverev in Miami last month and took down 15th-seeded Lucas Pouille in Barcelona this week.

The class, dignity and undying fighting spirit Ferrer displayed throughout his career makes him one of the tour's most respected players.

Fans and media shared the love in these farewells to Ferrer.
