Roger Federer says he’s planning to skip the entire lead-up to 2017 Roland Garros—but he does plan to play the French Open for the 18th time. The 2009 champion was speaking with ESPN’s Brad Gilbert immediately after his straight-sets win over Rafael Nadal in yesterday’s Miami final.

Federer, who improved his career title haul to 91 on Sunday, improved to 19-1 on the season.

“I’m not 24 anymore,” said Federer. “So things have changed in a big way and I probably won’t play any clay-court events except the French. That’s how it’s going to look like—I need a rest, my body needs healing. I need time as well, to prepare.”

For Federer fans this should come as good news. The 35-year-old made the most of his time away from the game last autumn and winter. His season ended after Wimbledon and he has returned with a vengeance in 2017 to win his 18th major title and show some of the best tennis of his career.
