Dominic Thiem didn’t get the win on Wednesday against Andy Murray in Miami, but the 21-year-old did remind us all of just how physical of a phenom he can be during his first run to the quarterfinals of a Masters 1000 event.

More: Murray Thames Thiem in Three in Miami

He was labelled as “country strong” by ESPN’s Brad Gilbert during the match, and it’s hard to argue that if anybody could lift bales of hay with their groundstrokes on the ATP Tour, it would be Thiem. The Austrian throws every ounce of his body into his groundies, as is exhibited by the backhand that he leaps into to set up the forehand approach shot which allows him to claim the set (see video above).

Thiem has struggled in 2015, perhaps because he has had to complete a compulsory stint in the Austrian Army, which no doubt has had an effect on the amount of time and preparation he can alot for his tennis. But if the Austrian keeps playing this type of physical tennis, all we can say is – give us more!
