Genie Bouchard will return to the US Open next week.
Former world No. 5 Bouchard has joined ESPN’s commentary team for the network’s coverage of the 2026 US Open.

The US Open main draw begins on Sunday, August 30th.
The 2026 Women’s and Men’s singles US Open Qualifying will begin Monday, August 24, on ESPN2 and streaming on ESPN+ on the ESPN App, with all-day action from USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.

Bouchard, who officially retired from tennis last summer, has served as a commentator for both Tennis Channel and TNT sports.
The Canadian posted 300 career match wins, won one Tour-level title and contested seven finals, including losing to Petra Kvitova in the 2014 Wimbledon final.
Eight years ago, the USTA settled with Bouchard, who sued the Tennis Association in a Brooklyn Federal court.
The USTA settled out of court after Canadian testified about the night she said she slipped on a wet locker room floor suffering a concussion during the 2015 US Open. That accident forced Bouchard out of the Open just before her fourth-round clash vs. Italian Roberta Vinci, who went on to upset Serena Williams and reach the final.
Initially, the USTA’s attorneys argued Bouchard, as an experienced pro, should have been aware that the locker room floor can get wet due to cleaning at that late hour.
Bouchard, who sued for millions of dollars, said she felt “vindicated” after the settlement. Financial terms of the settlement were not disclosed.
